For a hacker to be deemed successful, the hacker must hack into a Chromebook in Guest Mode, with the attacker’s code remaining on the device even after a reboot.
The prize for success for $50,000 last year, but Google has doubled the prize after there were no successful entries last year.
The company said: “We have a standing $100,000 reward for participants who can compromise a Chromebook or Chromebox with device persistence in guest mode, ie, guest-to-guest persistence with interim reboot, delivered via a web page.”
